Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Helen's love of photography began when she was given her first camera (an Instamatic) at the age of 10.
Being a keen equestrian, Helen began taking horse photos and in the late 80s and teamed up with a photographic studio in South Auckland to produce high quality images, covering hunting, showing, racing and advertising. She was then employed as photographer/advertising sales rep and editorial writer for a local newspaper The Counties Sport and News.
Moving to Australia, she started The Photo Shop - Club Crocodile Airlie Beach in 1992 and photographed weddings, sporting events, dog and horse shows, commercial and candid photography as well as photography for the local newspaper on request. The Photo Shop sold when Helen moved to Brisbane and Helen started work with the Qld Public Service which lasted 18 years. During this time Allshots Photography was launched and Helen worked mainly with the Queensland Maritime Museum, wedding shoots. and candid photography.
Now retired from the Public Service, Helen has regained her enthusiasm for photography and her range of equipment includes Nikon (digital cameras D5200 & D5300 and a wide range of Nikor lenses) Speedlight SB700 (flash) and Stereo external mic for video work. She is also available to assist with business/artists promotion which utilises her diplomas in business and marketing.
